Mother Nature Gave to Me
When you ask mother nature for a child,
she places a plant in your hands and says -
“My dear,
watch how this plant
becomes fruit.”

Female Feticide
The day you hit my mother
Made her feel less than the God she is
that day, in an effort to kill what was
in her womb,
Devi opened her three eyes
seeing the past, present, future
The wind shifted, the cherry blossoms
shed their petals
... for a new world was to be born

The Monk, Muse, and Mouthpiece
[WIP] A bouquet of flowers represents the moment a thought enters the mind. Passed between figures, the petals fall into the stream of unconcious. Younger Devi's fill the scene, plucking flowers for the trains of thought and peacefully enjoying the calm.

Seeds of Partition
A fictional portrait of my lost great great grandmother.
The Partition of India & Pakistan in 1947 caused millions of seeds to fly into the air to find safety. Some acted as the wind to get them there, losing themselves in the process. This is her story.

Root Systems
When a woman begins her matrescence, she must bury herself deep underground. It is terrifying, its dark and unknown. There, the roots of her ancestors, friends, family, and community come to meet her. The roots join and stretch her, bringing her stories, food, and comfort.

The Extreme Pain & Suffering Part
Pregnancy is excruciating.
Your body tries to prepare you, every month, for the hell you will endure. But nothing can truly ever prepare you. Your gut wrenches, your insides come to your outsides, and the salt on the wound is the sentence "Think positive thoughts, complaining will make the baby suffer".
